Statement
My work seeks to create a poetic pictorial archive, a meticulous record of the simple and the sensitive.
With observation as a starting point and then, with the use of a figurative language where technique has a predominant, but not restrictive, place, I take notes on what is visible on the material plane and on the sensory universe.
A silent gaze is essential to create a connection with what is seen, transferring the sensations that emerge from there to the canvas.
I oscillate back and forth like a pendulum between the material world and the mental one; what is seen at first glance as well as the underlying layers, transforming the surface through addition and subtraction procedures.
Therefore, my work pursues stillness and pause like a chimera, despite the constant change of the modern world. I seek to preserve the ephemeral and outshine- due to their enormous value - the simplest things.
